Saltspring Hospice/Bessie Dane Foundation is a non-profit, non-denominational society. We began in 1984, named in honour of the very kind and compassionate Bessie Dane of Fulford. Our hospice continues to operate as a volunteer-powered organization.
Our Board of Directors are made up of community members who meet monthly to oversee the organization. We have a part time Office Manager who coordinates and promotes our training courses and various initiatives.
Our mandate is to provide compassionate care and support to individuals in the last stages of living and to their loved ones who live on with their lives forever changed.
