Island Health

Vancouver Island Health Authority is the publicly funded health care provider in the southwestern portion of BC. With 150 facilities they provide service to the regions of Vancouver Island, Gulf Islands and part of the Central Coast.

Lady Minto Hospital 

A facility under Island Health that serves the community of Salt Spring Island. It features an Emergency department, acute care ward, and extended care facility, as well as a palliative care suite funded by Salt Spring Hospice Society (SSHS)

Greenwoods Eldercare Society

A not-for-profit organization that owns and manages residential care facilities on behalf of the residents of Southern Gulf Islands of BC.

Vancouver Island Federation of Hospices

Over 1,500 Hospice Volunteers contribute in excess of 100,000 caring hours annually in our Island Communities.

BC Centre for Palliative Care

A not-for-profit organization funded by the Ministry of Health to accelerate best practices, promote innovation and enhance capacity within the system and in the community in relation to Palliative Care, Advance Care Planning and Compassionate Communities.

British Columbia Hospice Palliative Care Association 

Representing individuals and organizations committed to promoting and delivering hospice/palliative care to British Columbians since 1986.

Canadian Hospice Palliative Care Association

Established in 1991, the national voice for Hospice Palliative Care in Canada. Advancing and advocating for quality end-of-life/hospice palliative care, its work includes public policy, education and awareness.
